Post-Game Quotes...
"We'd rather learn now than later. It's just like class -- the more you're in it, the better you get. We've got a lot of stipulations, a lot of obstacles ahead of us. But the exciting part about this season is actually coming together as a team. You go through a little growing pains to get to where you want to be."
   - Kevin Garnett

"They were upset. You want them that way. We had an opportunity to win it. So they're disappointed and rightfully so. Like I told them, things have a way of coming around. You lose a couple of these, you'll get one or two down the road."
   - Dwane Casey
"We believe it. We know things can turn around, as long as we're playing hard and being scrappy. This isn't going to take anything out of us. It's only the third game of the season."

Jeric faces old team tonight vs Clippers
Clippers to sport familiar face in Sam Cassell
*Now Wolves will have to try and stop Cassell, Star Tribune

(Game at LA Clippers 9:30pm 11/05/2005) Instead of a coaching matchup as the spice this time, the Wolves and the Clippers will have that at point guard. Sam Cassell will go against his old team -- OK, one of his six old teams -- for the first time. But so will Marko Jaric, who came to Minnesota with since-cut Lionel Chalmers in the trade for Cassell and a first-round pick. -- Steve Aschburner , Star Tribune

(Los Angeles 11/5/05 with AP excerpts) The Minnesota Timberwolves went into overtime for the second straight night, with the same result, losing 100-99. Kevin Garnett had 25 points and 15 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who had won 10 of their previous 11 games against the Clippers. Former Clippers guard Troy Hudson scored 21 points off the bench, 11 in the fourth quarter.
The Timberwolves never led in regulation, but still managed to force overtime on Garnett's 11-foot jumper with 7.3 seconds left. Cassell, who had 12 points and seven assists in 44 minutes, tried to pull out the win after a timeout but missed on a scoop shot at the fourth-quarter buzzer.
The Timberwolves, who trailed by as many as 12 points, pulled within 78-76 with 8:58 left in the fourth quarter as Hudson hit a 22-footer, a 3-pointer, a short running jumper and two free throws — all in a 3:49 span. Garnett tied it at 78 32 seconds later with an 11-footer, but the Clippers hung tough. In overtime, KG again could not convert on a final seconds layup that would have won the game.
Garnett hit a layup with 1:50 left in the fourth, but couldn't convert the ensuing free throw after Kaman fouled him. Hudson tied it at 89 with a layup with 55 seconds to go.
Jaric, who averaged 17 points and 4.5 assists in his first two games with Minnesota, had eight points and eight assists in his first game against his former team.

"I hope they cheer for him, because Sam was with us when we went to the Western Conference finals. He just had one season where he wasn't healthy. You've got to respect that."
