(Minnesota 11/9/05 from the Poundmaster) Minnesota's defense was agin the difference as the Timberwolves (3-2) held the Lakers to only 29 second half points in an 88-74 victory Wednesday night. Scoring was balanced with KG leading Wolves scorers with 17 points. Trenton Hassell had 14, Wally Szczerbiak 13 and Eddie Griffin 13 points, making 5 Wolves in double figures.
The Lakers' Kobi Bryant was held to 28 points, and suffered at the hands of the Dwane Casey zone defense. The Minnesota bench outscored the Lakers bench 36-19 on a night when the top scorers were having a tough shooting day.
The Timberwolves improved shooting 90% from the free throw line tonight. They shot 47% from the field. The boards were a tie 49-49, but only 20% from three point range.
