(Denver 11/13/05 by Poundmaster) Only 20 seconds were gone at the start of the game when Marcus Camby grabbed his first rebound. By the time the game ended, Camby would have 22 rebounds and 7 blocked shots as the powered over the Timberwolves 102-91.
The Timberwolves led the Nuggets by 3 at one point. But this was Denver's night. In the second half, they never led by less that double digits. The Nuggets had a season high 54 rebounds, 15 on the offensive boards. Steve ASchburner of the Star Tribune pointed out that the Timberwolves 30 rebounds was the fewest they have seen all season.
Kevin Garnett could only find 9 rebounds tonight to go with his 19 points. Wally Szczerbiak had 20 points, and Rashad McCants scored 14. Wally and Marko Jeric had 5 assists each. Ron Dupree (6 rebs) and Mark Madsen (5 rebs) were the only other force on the boards for the Wolves on this night.
Coach Dwane Casey had lots on his mind this weekend as he buried his father in Indianapolis on Saturday night. James Casey, 80, died last Tuesday.
"Any time you lose your dad or your mom, it's difficult," Coach Casey said. "And you worry about your mom being alone. But I know that he would want, and my mom wants, me to get back to work. That gives me strength."
