(Minneapolis 11/19/05 Poundmaster) Michael Olowokandi brought his "A" game tonight, scoring a season high 18 points with 8 rebounds as the Timberwolves remained in 1st place (5-4) in the Northwest by downing the Bobcats. Kevin Garnett had a double-double (19 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists in the game.
The Wolves defense held Charlotte to a season-low 38 first-half points - Charlotte's previous season low was 39. Rashad McCants, playing against some of his old North Carolina Tarheel teammates, had an excellent 4th quarter, scoring 11 points with 4 rebounds in the game.
"We have several players playing great ball right now," said McCants. "It was fun to play against some of my old teammates tonight. It is nice we made it to this level."
Starting at 10:12 in the 4th quarter, Michael Olowokandi hit three shots in a row to put the Wolves up to a 19-point lead at 82-63.
"I don't know what he's been dining on, but he should continue dining on it," Garnett said. "He's in a nice flow and his confidence is up. And we just have to continue to fuel him."
Anthony Carter took a short rebound and scored with a hook at the buzzer to give the Timberwolves a 45-38 first half lead. With 5:24 left in the 2nd quarter, the officials changed a charging call on Wally to a blocking call on the Bobcats, for a 4 point swing. The T-wolves really put the game away when they took their 55-48 halftime lead into the third quarter, and building it to a 13-point 3rd quarter lead at 74-61.

Fashionable Mad Dog?

"For a few minutes at the start of the fourth quarter Saturday night, if you squinted really hard, you might have thought Hakeem Olajuwon had dusted himself off and stepped onto the floor for the Timberwolves."
