Chauncey Billups leads Pistons on 20-4 third quarter run to trounce Timberwolves 107-83

      (MN 1/24/06 by Poundmaster) Chauncey Billups and the Detroit Pistons went on a 20-4 third quarter jaunt to bury the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight 107-83. It was a Flip Saunders homecoming, and Flip got the best of it tonight.
     Billups had 27 points and 8 assists in what was a one point Timberwolves lead at halftime. But the Wolves defense collapsed, and their 3-point shooting failed, shooting only 20% from three range this night. The Pistons outrebounded the Wolves 47-33.
     Kevin Garnett had a 21 point 10 rebound double double in a losing effort, and on a night when he did not get the support he normally gets. Wally Szczerbiak had an off night with 13 points. Rashad McCants picked up 14 points on 6 for 11 shooting.
