Timberwolves last second comeback fails;
lose to Jazz 96-93 in first game of road trip

     (Salt Lake City 3/8/2006) The Minnesota Timberwolves dropped another close one tonight to the Utah Jazz 96-93. Ricky Davis made a turnaround three with three second to go to make it 96-93, but a Hassell jumper did not fall as the clock ran out.
     Kevin Garnett let the Wolves with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Marco Jaric had a fine game with 20 points and 4 steals, including 3 for 3 from three point range. Rookie Rashad McCants had 16 points, and Ricky Davis 14.
     The Wolves led the Jazz 50-49 at halftime behind balanced Wolves shooting. KG had 13, Jaric 9, Davis 9 and McCants 8 and the Timberwolves shot 58% in the first half.

     (Minneapolis 3/5/2006) Kevin Garnett had another career game with 23 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists as the Minnesota Timberwolves powered by the San Francisco Warriors 99-86 this afternoon to avenge their recent worst loss of the season to the Warriors in Oakland. The Wolves have won 3 of their last 4 games.
     Ricky Davis had 7 assists to go with his 17 points, while Trenton Hassell scored 15 and had 4 assists to go with him defensive effort. Marcus Banks looks like a keeper at starting guard with 12 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Jason Richardson scored 36 points with 7 threes for the Warriors in a losing effort.
     "I just try to find the open man," said Ricky Davis when asked about his team-high 7 assists in a post-game interview. "Everyone had a few days off and came back working as a team. Coach has talking about me helping Trenton out on defense of the best players. I am working to do that."
     "With Banks we are coming together as a team," said Coach Dwane Casey. "Good team effort. I thought Eddie came in and did a good job. When they went small in the second half, I did not put Eddie back in the game, going with a smaller lineup."
