(MN 4/7/2006 by Poundmaster) The Minnesota Timberwolves could not muster enough threes and boards, and had a few more turnovers than the Utah Jazz as they dropped a home game 103-95. Once again, they just could not measure up in the last minute. Justin Reed and Rashad McCants tried to come to the rescue, but the Jazz handled KG (14/13) tonight. Reed had 17 and McCantw 16 on the night.
The Timberwolves were only down by four points going into the last quarter, but that lead was elusive as Carlos Boozer took charge for the Jazz with 30 points.

(Atlanta 4/5/06 by Poundmaster) Despite a great games by both Kevin Garnett and Ricky Davis, the Minnesota Timberwolves still found a way to lose tonight 101-99, this time on a full court breakaway bucket after a sensational Davis score, with tyronn Lue going full court to make the winning layup with no time on the clock. Lu also scored a three pointer in the last minute. Davis scored 33 points, and Kevin Garnett scored 27 with 15 assists. Marcus Banks continued his great guard play with 10 asssists.
But none of that mattered. The Wolves lost their 12th straight road game tonight, the worst since the 90's.
The Timberwolves rebounded from the second worst second quarter in history to go back in front of the Hawks 67-65 after three quarters. Davis led the way in the first half with 22 points. KG had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Banks had 9 assists in the first half, 7 of them in the first quarter.
The Hawks went on a 23-2 run to start the second quarter, leaving a 32-19 first quarter lead in the dust and going up on the Wolves 43-36. It was a complete collapse by the Timberwolves who scored only 8 points in the second quarter, the second lowest scoring quarter in the history of the franchise.

KG 24/22; Davis 20; Wolves 23 turnovers; 12th straight road loss

(Charlotte 4/4/06 by Poundmaster) The Minnesota Timberwolves wasted a 24 point 22 rebound KG effort, losing in the closing minute to the Charlotte Bobcats 97-92. The Timberwolves could not hit their three point shots and gave up critical turnovers down the stretch.
Kevin Garnett had 4 assists to go along with his 24 point 22 rebound night. Ricky Davis scored 20 points. Marcus Banks was a little cold shooting, but added 8 assists.
"Until the Timberwolves break through on the road, any progress made at home will be blunted," reported Rick Alonzo of the Pioneer Press. "Their 23-14 home record is the best of any Western Conference team that currently wouldn't make the playoffs.... (but)
They visit the Charlotte Bobcats tonight, towing an 11-game losing streak on the road, the franchise's longest drought since 1998-99."

Standings by ESPN
"He (Rookie Rashad McCants) has matured so fast, probably because he's had no choice, given the position that he's in. He had to succeed. He had to be aggressive. It's been learn-as-you-go. He's handled it. He's maturing beautifully, and it's working out. So far, so good."
