May 10, 2005 - Cleaning out the locker
Today I went in to the Target center to clean out my locker and tie up a few loose ends. I saw McHale up in the office working the phones
on the coaching search and we talked for a while. I asked him how
the coaching search was going and he said that they had good interviews with the three current T-wolves assistants as well as several other candidates. The one thing McHale said was that he really wanted us to become a better defensive team with better "rotations" and more scrambling. After I left, Freddie Hoiberg called me and we shot the breeze for a few minutes. he was getting ready to make dinner for his faimy--tacos. Then I called Trenton Hassell and John Thomas. I couldn't get ahold of JT but Trenton sounded great and is already training for next season. Now I'm just sitting here watching the NBA playoffs. I just watched Shaq and the Miami Heat.
Shaq played well but it's clear that leg injury is serious--he was limping a little as he ran up and down the court. Based on what I saw tonight I think Miami is the favorite to win the championship. I talked to someone who communicates with Phil Jackson on ocasion to try to get the inside scoop and I couldn' t get any real info on if he's
going to NYC or L.A. I need to get Phil's email so I can figure out
where he's going.
