One
time during the national gasoline crisis, when Mark
Madsen was about 4-years-old, his family been in a
long line to get gas. It was very hot and there were
lots of other children in the car.
After
he arrived back home, his mother heard a knock on
the door. When she opened it, it was Mark. He was
beaming and told her that she would never have to
get gas again, and that he had "taken care of
it."
Mom looked towards the car
and saw the garden hose stuffed down the gas port.
The water had been turned on, and the whole tank was
flushed of gas now and full of water. Mark was so
pleased.
"What
could I do but be pleased also?" mom relates.
"I thanked him."
The
family gave the car to someone his dad knew at a gas
station.
